97% of the people who visit your sales funnel never buy...

Yup. That happened sometimes.

‎‎‎

Many of us thought of landing pages as a magic trick. Just build it then you will hit the jackpot, bringing in a lot of sales right away. Yet after you launched your very first page, nothing changed for your business.

Well, is this you?

Many designers out there would have you believe that landing page design is the only thing that matters in positioning your funnel to success.

‎‎‎

The truth is, there are so many more factors that contribute to a funnel success, aside from design.

(Do not get me wrong, design is essential to build trust, but getting the funnel marketing fundamentals right is a must before launching any offer.)

Here are the 5 mistakes that might be hurting your conversion:

1. Not using a great headline

It is pretty basic and straightforward. Yet this is where it usually goes wrong. It can be a headline for your FB ads, Google ads, landing page or email newsletter.

According to Jim Edwards, a great headline with a mediocre copy always outperform an excellent copy with a weak headline. If your headline is weak or listless, nobody will read your sales letter, which means nobody opts in for your lead magnet, which results in you having no lead to follow up.

Always spend more time to figure out a great headline for your ads, landing page and email newsletter.

2. Your sales messages fail to match your audience temperature

Before you go ahead and craft any sales message, you need to understand the large market formula that consists of

  • 3% hot lead
  • 37% warm lead
  • 60% cold lead

Position your sales message based on what that particular buyer group know.

‎‎

If they have already heard of and trust the service provided by your company (the 3% group), then tell them upfront about your company and the product or service provided.

‎‎

If they are in the 37% group, then focus on the problem while offering the different solutions to their problems and let them know you have the solution they need afterwards.

‎‎

Make sure your sales messages, offer and, landing page copy match the temperature of your varying group of audience.

3. You are solving a problem that is not much of a problem

Offer creation is the #1 reason that will make or break your funnel. Figure out the cost, price, and value of your solution to your client. Pick the one solution that is most valuable to your client. The bigger the problem, the more willing your client will be in paying a higher price to get it solved.

4. Not Split Testing your funnel AT ALL

Good is the enemy of Great. Even if you are getting a decent result with your landing page, do not give up on split testing your funnel to make it even better.

You can split-test with everything, from the headline, the copy, the bullet points, the design, the prices or even the offer itself.

However, you must not test more than ONE variable at ONE time. Failing to do so will cause the test results to become invalid.

5. Selling "RIGHT" from the beginning

Each step in your funnel should ONLY serve ONE PURPOSE. The job of each part is to move people to the next part.

Eg: Ads copy's job is to sell the click; an Opt-in page's purpose is to sell the opt-in; A landing page's purpose is to persuade your leads to take action, such as book a consultation call or purchase a product.

Figure out what is the purpose of each part and position your sales copy accordingly.
